Tour departs from That Xieng Tueng, Muang Sings most sacred Bhuddist site. For the first hour, the tour follows the old French road which was cut through the jungle in colonial times.
The trek includes: walking through primitive forests, rice fields, glades, rivers, rocky out-crops, wildlife watching, collecting forest herbs and products with village guides to add to the meals, boating on the Xebanhieng River, camping and homestay at Katang minority villager's houses. The authenticity of this remote area can be still seen.
Your local guide will point out many interesting things, such as cardamom, rattan and medicinal plants. Slash and burn is a cultivation rotation, where the method consists of cutting, drying and burning the natural vegetation in order to create a rice field in the forested and mountainous area.

Visit the pre-Angkorian Vat Phou Temple (6th-13th centuries). Vat Phou Temple lies on a hillside and offers spectacular views on the surrounding plains and on the Mekong River.
The next day you hike for a longer stretch after an early breakfast to have another night and enough time in the Hmong village. Again it will be warm and curious welcome to you…and you will be tired. You walk over small hills and up and down to the higher areas where the Hmong normally live.
Early morning upon leaving Pakbeng, we visit the hill tribe market; we then begin our expedition, venturing into northern Laos mountain remote area. The roads conditions are good enough to explore; however the verdant and rugged mountain scenery combined with the colorful local population makes for an unforgettable experience.
