Itinerary in Details:
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau - Puluong Nature reserve ( L,D )
8:00 AM pick up at your hotel, depart for Mai chau, a beautiful green valley. This is really a great escape from the hustle city for the nature and authentic beauty. The landscape changes greatly as you enter the mountainous area of Hoa Binh province. The road meanders through the lush scenery of mountain with villages dotted on hillsides and the locals leading their life in traditional way. Arrive in Lac Village of Mai Chau at noon time. This village is known in the tourist maps as a common homestay place. We will have a home lunch in local house then take a walk around the Lac village and Pomcoong village for sightseeing and to learn more about local life. Try on traditional costumes and shop for souvenirs in Lac Village.
Continue with a drive for another 40km to Puluong- the Natural reserve area. Puluong may attract you thanks to its stunning rice terrace fields, beautiful nature, breath taking mountain passes and traditional villages of ethnic minorities who still retain their unique cultural heritage and way of living.
You arrive at your accommodation, check in the beautiful retreat, with its captivating panoramic views and tranquil setting.
Rest of the day you have the chance to get close to village life and interact with locals living in the hills above the Retreat. Glimpse at daily life by walking through beautiful hill side villages, magnificent rice paddies, around working farmland and rice fields, and get to know more about the local cultrue. The highlight on this road is experiencing the beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, the everyday life and culture of the white Thai people.
Overnight on the traditional house on stilts ( private mastress, sharing big room ) or private room
Day 2: Puluong – Hanoi ( B, L )
This morning transfer to a suspension bridge over the Cham River, where you begin your walk in search of stunning water wheels. Get up close to each wheel and discover how water is moved from river to handmade bamboo aqueducts via simple constructions of all sizes. Arriving at a local fisherman’s house, you have a short rest to gear up for the bamboo river rafting. Float along the calm river and enjoy the views, in between learning how to paddle and steer your handcrafted rafts. ( Note; This activities is up to the weather condition. Normally in July there is storm there and we can not do bamboo rafting )
Arriving at scenic Tan Lap bridge, you disembark to be transferred back to Pu Luong Retreat for lunch.
Afternoon, take a trip back Hanoi.
